Crystal Palace Subway

For those who love history and architecture then this is a hidden gem in London. Constructed to connect visitors to the Crystal Palace in 1865. When the Crystal Palace was destroyed by fire in 1936 the station was closed to passengers and thus the subway remained hidden.

After a huge amount of work from the Friends of the Crystal Palace Subway, it finally opened its doors to visitors in 2013. I visited here during Open House London in 2015 and was blown away by the beauty and the history that was enclosed.

For Londoners and visitors alike, I would recommend visiting and seeing this fantastic bit of history that Crystal Palace has to offer.

Remember! check the website to see when the next open day is.
